If the early 90s taught us one lesson, it is this: When it comes to war, we're not here to justify the cost, or to count up all the loss, that's all been done before. Think less and care more America.

If he were a female, makeup would have run down his face????
Priceless.
I totally saw Gary Busey in there.
good heavens did this really happen?
i lost any shred of respect for about 50% of 90's celebrities just now. who was the genius behind this?
i really wanna find out more about this monstrosity that had been swept under the rug of history!
was that mike tyson in there?
who was the guy with the glasses singing at the end of the song?
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0332494/fullcredits#cast
holy crap! i am absolutely in LOVE with the fact that Cetera brought his vocal effects and doubling along with him. also gary busey feelin' it. also i am 11 again after watching that.
Even Will Smith bringin' a "fresh" rhyme.
Meryl Streep, a true professional.
Oh. I almost threw up my drink
I was just tasting while seeing this.
Lesson to be learned here.
Never put any type of sustenance
in your mouth whilst visiting E.I.T.
Its just way too much of a risk.
The Cointreau was tasting good too.
Damn.
After a great deal of consideration on my part, I've finally decided that "cause" and "loss" do not in fact rhyme.
Voices that care...as long as you're American. If you're Iraqi, you can just fuck off and die. This truly is a turd, which I missed the first time around because I was in Grade 1 at the time.
I remember this video, and at the time, I liked it. One redeming feature is that Celine Dion looks somewhat normal.
I also recall that when this song/video was released, there was another cadre of celebrities and musicians who got together and recorded a remake of "Give Peace a Chance". There was some criticism of that group because it sent a negative message compared to the more support-the-troops-y "Voices that Care" song.
This has got to be what inspired that hilarious "Sending our Love Down the Well" bit from the Simpsons.
I can link!
oh my god, jodie...
I like how Michael Bolton can't be bothered to stand up when he sings. The song was custom made for the troops and it's called "Stand Up Stand Tall" for christ's sake! Nope, no dice.
Where in the hell was I when this epic POS was made? Meryl Streep, Mike Tyson, Harry Hamlin, Michael Bolton, Nelson, Debbie Gibson and the Fonz! There are too many shitty celebs to keep track of.
ugh , these people need to be reminded they participated in this brainwashing monstrosity & hateful fascist fuckery, everytime they appear in public to promote their latest POS projects, to be reminded that they whole heartedly agreed to the genocide of the Iraqi people and a big cash grab for the Bush Cheney Oil War Machine... everything IS terrible! You guys Rock U-S-A~!!!
i didnt know candace cameron was a soldier in the gulf war.
Tenn,
This song was made during Operation Desert Storm. The first Gulf War. George W. Bush had nothing to do with it you kool-aid drinking fucktard. Read up on history before you start talking. Save yourself from looking like and idiot - which is quite the feat I'm sure.
Wow, what a douchbagfest! And Gary Busey? Singing? Good lord!
@ Sam K: Looks like the "Give Peace a Chance" cover is where the cool kids were. Except Little Richard was apparently in both, defying the laws of nature as always.
@ Anonymous 6/18: Umm, actually, see...
Yeah! We should do this now. We should get Kanye, Daughtry and Neil Patrick Harris for a global warming song.
Pro-war Anon, your ignorance of the links of the Bush _family_ with the military-industrial complex makes me think you, too, might have smeared your makeup had you been a female.
This doesn't have nearly half the impact as "We Are The World" did, mostly because Dan Aykroyd isn't awkwardly looming in the background.
I finally managed to watch the full version of the music video, and I have only one thing to say: Don King.
DON MOTHERFUCKING KING.
