NEIL HAMBURGER: DORA HALL 101
You will simply never see a show like this anywhere, ever.
"DORA HALL was the undisputed queen of vanity entertainment. Dora's husband was Leo Hulseman, the founder of the immensely successful Solo Cup Company, and a man who was quite happy to delve into Solo's apparently bottomless coffers to finance dozens of record releases by his wife, all of which were given away free of charge with packages of plastic cups and plates during the 1960's. Not content with her "success" in the record business, in the 1970's and 1980's Dora branched out with several full-blown Solo-financed TV specials designed to make her a star--despite the fact that she was an elderly grandmother with limited show business experience." - TV Heaven
If that wasn't awesome enough, Neil Hamburger is the world's leading expert in all things Dora, and MR. HAMBURGER WILL BE AT THIS YEAR'S EVERYTHING IS FESTIVAL! JUNE 3RD! 2:30PM!

HOT FOR KOMPUTER TUTOR
Let me get this out of the way first, gang: guest blogging for Everything Is Terrible, for me, is about the single greatest honor a complete waste of a man such as myself has ever received short of winning a wagon full of Archway cookies on the Bozo show. So let’s get to it. I was surprised at a few things after I made this video. FIRST: according to my mother, Kim Komando is still a force to be reckoned with on the technology scene. I always assumed that her “jazzing up documents” would have lost her some serious points with the Silicon Valley crowd. SECOND: It doesn’t matter what she says, I WILL LISTEN. Change my document margins? She’s right, you know: “It’s almost, like, why bother?” THIRD: I have a crazy, crazy crush on Kim Komando because she’s right: a blue screen is like a big, blank piece of paper I can put inside my typewriter. And if anyone’s going to disillusion me about Ed McMahon’s practice of merging form letters like “ramps onto a freeway,” I’d rather it be the soft, supple voice of Kim Komando instead of Leo Laporte. Wouldn’t you?

RIDE THE WAVE OF FEELING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT'S RIGHT
These 3 clips (and much more!!!) were on this Catholic faith-video-mixtape of sorts called "Faith First". For some reason watching this video in its entirety made me more critical than usual of the constantly shifting, truth-consuming concept of putting faith in your faith.
First of all, we learn that it's wrong to mess with the new girl for no reason, but so what?
This priest has weird segues into his points:

THE BATTLE BEGINS

People! The Battle Royale calls for you! I know we got a lot of Terribles and Terriblettes coming in from all across the country for this, so now is the perfect time to show off by taking down your peers!
Think your collection of YouTube videos and VHS tapes is the best in the biz? Well, prove it, creep! This is a Found Footage Battle Royale of viral video insanity — and we’re daring you to bring your A-game, and go head-to-head with your own kind! We want to see your weird, funny, insane clips that you’ve always wanted to show publicly — think of it like WWF wrestling, but with videos instead of all that greasy groping stuff. You will be judged by the audience applause-o-meter, so make sure your stuff is entertaining as a monster truck rally! Be forewarned: this could, and should, get ugly. Here’s how it works:
* - Anyone is welcome to enter, but you should be there in person for this.
* - Submissions can vary from an unseen YouTube clip to a fully edited piece. We obviously want creativity, but, really, this is about showing off gems. Whatever the clip may be, just think to yourself “Will this go over well with an audience of screaming maniacs?”
* - Each contestant must have a total of 6 CLIPS ready for show and sent to us by June 25th.
* - Once we take a took at everyone’s submissions, 16 lucky contestants will be chosen.
* - Clips cannot be longer than 2 MINUTES MAX! Anything longer will be cut short.
* - Submissions can be sent to us a number of ways: They can be DVDs dropped off at The Cinefamily (mailed to: The Cinefamily, attn: Found Footage Battle Royal, 611 N. Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles, CA, 90036) or emailed to us at whatsupeit@gmail.com. We will take many formats, but since this stuff is going to be projected on the big screen, think “the bigger the quality, the better.”
* - Costumes, character backgrounds, etc. are encouraged.
* - Taunting and mocking of other contestants is also appreciated — as long as it’s non-violent and/or creepy.
* - The winner will recieve a number of amazing prizes, including DVDs, shirts — AND TONS MORE!

MY FAVORITE THING

If there's one thing we don't do nearly enough here, it's sharing amazing things like this with you guys. Then again stuff like this doesn't come around that often. The story is that years ago, the wonderful video store Cinefile found this DVD in their return bin one morning mysteriously labeled 'The Pelican Brief Project.' No one knew anything about it, other than this band Candybox Violence composed a live score to the 1993 film 'The Pelican Brief' starring Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington.
But that couldn't be... That would be too awesome to be real... Right? Wrong! Years later, I rented it, watched it a thousand more times, and became obsessed with seeing this performed live. After becoming quite the little gumshoe, I got my wish, found the guys and they were happy to reunite and perform at this year's Everything is Festival!'
For real, out of all the amazing shows at this year's Gathering, this is the one I am most excited about. I really hope you get the chance to see this live with us. It's going to be very, very special.
